Greed #BlogFlash2012 Day 11

It is so easy to see greed in our news stories – companies whose employees don’t get a raise because the board wants their big bonus, higher prices on everything so those at the top can make even more money, and even major countries complaining about the Olympic medal count. But this is all high profile. I see far less greed in my every day interactions with people. In fact I often see the opposite – incredible generosity. I see people coming together for families in need. I see love and support for those who are hurting. These are the stories I share with my children and the lessons I want them to learn.

  1. Your post has made me think. There is too much greed out there and at every opportunity it is our focus. But the kindness of neighbours, friends and family goes unsaid. A good reminder of the importance of priorities. xx

  2. I have to say it bugs the hell out of me the way bosses threat their employees just so they can get big bonuses, and that's just one of the many forms of greed in our society today, unfortunately.

Have you noticed how it's always the people who have the least who are willing to try and give the most? Now there's a lesson for all of us.

    Great post!

  3. And it's also the people who have less to give more. Well, usually at least. There are exceptions everywhere. I wish the news were more keen on reporting those, too!

  4. What a fantastic sentiment, Angela! Sometimes it's easy to become overwhelmed and focus on the negative. Instead, we should look to the positive wherever we can!
